Steakhouse Burger and Bacon Sauce

Steakhouse Burger and Bacon Sauce

This was the first time I’d made these burgers for Mike. His favorite burger is a bacon cheeseburger with A1 sauce from Five Guys. So, I delighted him with this burger that combines the A1 sauce into the patty. I call it the Steakhouse Burger and Bacon Sauce.

Steakhouse Burger and Bacon Sauce

You can start on the sauce or patties, it doesn’t make a difference. I like to start with the sauce. Mix bacon, onion, sugar, salt and pepper in a saucepan.

Bacon Sauce

After you cook for 3 minutes, stir in ketchup. Cook another 1-2 minutes, and you’re done.

Now for the patties. Mix the beef, A1 sauce, salt and pepper. Then pack them into 4 patties and take out to the grill. Grill 6-8 minutes each side to preferred doneness. I need mine WELL.

Add your cheese and grill 1 more minute. Then you’re ready to make your burger.  We enjoyed these with our Twice Baked Potatoes and our Broccoli Foil Packet recipes.

Don’t forget the Garnish! We like green onion and tomato, but most of the usual burger toppings work well.

Mike even likes to Garnish hot dogs with the bacon sauce.
