Today I’ll be showing you a super fast and simple recipe that I came up with on the fly a few weeks ago. The Spicy Taco Schmear just came to me! I love bagels and cream cheese, but Mike couldn’t fully appreciate it as a cream cheese hater. So my wheels started turning, how could I possibly get him to eat cream cheese? Of course, by making it Spicy and Taco flavor. Thus, the Spicy Taco Schmear.
Enter, the whipped cream cheese. Since part of why Mike won’t eat cream cheese is the thickness of it, I went with whipped to make it less heavy. I whipped the cream cheese even more with the sour cream to lend some more flavor, and also thin out that thickness.
To whip, I used my Magic Bullet. Now, we aren’t affiliated with Amazon or the Magic Bullet, but I will swear by the Bullet. I love it. It takes a little babying to work ingredients down to the blade, but it is so much better than whipping such a small recipe in a mixing bowl with the beaters or using a huge blender.
In a bowl, stir together the seasonings, then whip into the cream cheese mixture. Stir in Jalapeno chunks, and you’re done.
You can schmear on a bagel, and Garnish with a drizzle of Picante Salsa.
Or, use as a dip with tortilla chips. The dip was an accidental discovery. We had no intentions of dipping, but to taste test we tried with a chip and Oh. My. God. It’s delicious. Just saying.
