So, you’ve heard how much we like Mexican style food, right? If not… this must be your first visit! Welcome! My three food groups are Mexican, pizza and desserts. And can you even eat tacos, nachos or burritos without guacamole? Yes! Yes, I can! But Mike loves this stuff. Honestly, I’ve never liked guacamole or avocado. Bleh. Honestly, this is my first time even making it. I’ve never tried because I wouldn’t eat it. But then, scrolling through Instagram, 7UP promoted a little video clip of showing a homemade 7UP Guacamole, surprise, there’s 7UP in it! I thought, this is super bizarre but sounds interesting and I bet Mike would like it. So I followed their recipe and I have to say, that I actually liked it! I am eating 7UP Guacamole right now as I’m typing. It’s not as sweet or carbonated as I’d have guessed with soda in it. The flavor is really good. I may have been converted to a guacamole “liker”- if it’s made with 7UP.
This is not my recipe, and we are not an affiliate with 7UP or receiving any type of reimbursement for this. I just really enjoyed the uniqueness and wanted to spread it along. Not only is it tasty, but it’s so easy and fast to make. So let’s get into it.
First, try to cube your avocado as best as you can. I pretty much cut a little hashtag into the open half and scoop it out.
I usually microwave my lime on a plate to get it super juicy. 8-10 seconds is great. Then squeeze your lime over the avocados.
Then pour the 7UP into the bowl. It’ll sizzle from the carbonation, and seems like way too much liquid, but it honestly is perfect once it gets all mixed in.
Use a fork or a masher, and mash and stir it all up.
Stir in the pico de gallo and seasonings. Garnish with lime wedges.
Serve this 7UP Guacamole as a dip for tortilla chips, or on your favorite Mexican style food. Of course, don’t forget your Classic Margarita. Enjoy!
